About the Scholarship
All citizens of the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu are eligible for the Fully Funded US South Pacific Scholarship. It is available for bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the field of subjects that are crucial to the needs of Pacific island nations in terms of development. The 15th of January 2024 is the cutoff date for mailing in your application. This fellowship is provided by the US Department of State.
Scholarships are available from the U.S. Department of State for master’s and bachelor’s degree programs at the University of Hawaii that are geared on meeting the requirements of Pacific island nations in terms of development.
STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields, communication and journalism, agriculture, education, environmental studies, business, gender studies, public administration, public health, NGO management, and allied fields are among the focus areas. Professional degrees in fields such as law, architecture, and medicine are not supported by the scholarship.

- Payments for housing, a monthly allowance, tuition and fees to the university, and a moving-in allowance.

Scholarship Eligibility
The following list outlines the requirements for the fully funded US South Pacific Scholarship:
- Citizens of the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu are eligible to apply for the US South Pacific Scholarship Program.
- Candidates for bachelor’s programs should have finished their secondary education by the institution’s undergraduate application deadline.
- Applicants with undergraduate coursework that is not equal to a four-year bachelor’s degree earned in the United States are also eligible to apply.
- Applicants for master’s programs should have finished a baccalaureate degree that was at least three years long.
- Candidates with a three-year bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for a one-year bridging program.
- Candidates who hold dual citizenship, of which one is American, are ineligible.
