USA Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship

For students interested in earning a two-year degree in international development or another field connected to USAID’s mission, the University of Minnesota provides a fellowship program for such interested students. Students who have earned their undergraduate degree from an accredited university are qualified for this financing option. The University of Minnesota’s graduate degree programs are required for applicants.

Benefits For USA Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship

Up to fifteen fellowships, each worth up to $52,000 annually, are given out through the Payne Fellowship Program for graduate study in international development or a different field connected to USAID’s purpose. The award includes up to $24,000 per year toward tuition and required fees for finishing a two-year master’s degree at a U.S. institution, a $18,000 stipend for each academic year for room, board, books, and other education-related expenses, as well as up to $10,000 per year in stipend, housing, transportation, and related costs for summer placements.
