About the Scholarship
One of the top professional public policy and planning institutions in the nation is the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, which is well known for its ability to advance the common good through an extensive, top-notch curriculum. The Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs Master’s degree scholarship encourages students who meet the admission standards to enrol in the academic MDP program. The goal of the dynamic MDP system-wide training program is to improve and fortify leadership qualities and abilities. The fact that these fully funded US scholarships are given out on the basis of both merit and financial need is their strongest feature. The Yousriya Loza-Sawiris USA Scholarship for Egyptians is awarded based on the moral qualities that are exhibited in extracurricular activities, social behaviour, and academic achievement. The scholarship will pay for all of the first year’s expenses for students and only a portion of the second year’s expenses. The scholar will work a quarter-time job during the second year, which will help cover a portion of the program’s expenses.

The following list outlines the requirements for the fully funded US South Pacific Scholarship:
MDP Program Requirements:
- Four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited US university or foreign equivalent. English language proficiency (see below for more information).
- Previous coursework in mathematics, statistics, and economics is recommended.
- Completion of a 50-credit academic master’s program in 2 academic years.
- Completion of a 10 week summer field experience.
- English language proficiency is required. Valid TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo.
Minimum score requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum of 79, writing subscore 21, reading subscore 19
- IELTS: minimum 6.5, writing subscore 6.5, reading subscore 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum overall score: 115, minimum literacy sub-score: 115

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship Applicants:
- Egyptian nationals residing in Egypt (preference will not be given to dual nationality holders).
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a well-reputed academic institution in a related field of study.
- Satisfy the entry requirements into the academic MDP program.
- Demonstrate excellent professional and academic track record.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills (extracurricular activities/community work/entrepreneurial initiative).
- Demonstrate the inability to finance studies from own resources.
- While no specific experience or academic track is required, students with a strong liberal arts education background and sound quantitative and analytical skills will be best prepared for academic success at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
- Demonstrate a minimum of two years of work experience in the field of development.
- Employment in the development sector in Egypt following graduation for no less than 2 consecutive years.
