École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) is committed to helping students, especially when their financial circumstances make it challenging for them to finish their studies.

These scholarships are given based on predetermined criteria and are given out when the potential grantee’s social, family, and/or financial circumstances change.

For students with exceptional academic records, EPFL offers a limited number of scholarships at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Some of the scholarships are funded directly by EPFL, while others are supported by alliances with philanthropies or businesses.

Eligibility

The most worthy applicants receive these limited number of scholarships from EPFL based on their academic records. They are designed for students who have excelled in their pre-university coursework, both academically and in extracurricular activities.

Scholarship Value

The Scholarship comprises a reservation for a student room in a residential hall and CHF 10,000 every semester.

The Scholarship is paid over three years for bachelor’s degrees while it is paid over four semesters for master’s degrees (students must have earned at least 50 ECTS credits and have an overall average of 5,0/6 in order for the fellowship to be renewed).

How To Apply

Students in their senior year of high school must check the appropriate box on their bachelor’s application form by 30 April and submit the required application file in order to be eligible for the Bachelor Excellence Fellowship.

Candidates must submit their Master Excellence Fellowship application via the same online form as their master’s program application by 15 April or 15 December to be considered (there is a box to tick indicating that the candidates profile should also be considered for an excellence fellowship).
