University of Melbourne is the sponsor of this fellowship. As a retirement gift, his colleagues established the Brian John Shaw Scholarship (BA(Hons) 1956, LLB(Hons) 1956) in recognition of Brian John Shaw QC’s honourable and distinguished career at the bar and in the legal profession.

Students pursuing a Juris Doctor degree who are underprivileged are eligible to apply for the award.
